Who We Are

Conservation work is complex, gradual, and often invisible, which makes clear public communication difficult. That’s where we come in.

We work alongside conservation organizations in the field, creating accurate, thoughtful media that respects the complexity of environmental work and helps communicate that work responsibly.

Our company’s founder was raised in Alaska, where he spent time alongside people working in wild, remote places. That background shapes how we approach conservation storytelling: with patience, empathy, and a comfort working face to face with the people and places that make a difference.

Working With Sandcrane Hill

Much of the work we document involves sensitive topics, protected landscapes, and communities whose stories require care, consent, and context. Our role is not just to create compelling media, but to do so responsibly.

We approach all projects with an emphasis on informed consent, transparency of intent, and alignment on how media will be used. When working with communities or sensitive subject matter, we work not to exploit, but to collaborate and elevate.

Experience Working With Complex Contexts

  • Navigating licensing, permitting, and access requirements for conservation and research projects

  • Collaborating with Indigenous, Native, and First Nations communities in ways guided by consent, respect, and local protocols

  • Working alongside international conservation organizations and research teams across borders and regulatory environments

  • Handling sensitive ecological, cultural, and political topics with discretion and editorial care

Our experience in conservation storytelling ensures that the media we produce is accurate, respectful, and durable over time.

Testimonials

“I really enjoyed working with Sandcrane Hill Productions on the release of wood bison into the Minto Flats State Game Refuge. So many film crews just get in the way and don’t understand that the animals come first. Sandcrane Hill Productions was never under foot, always helpful, and understood the priority of these precious animals. I’d be happy to work with them again.”
