Meet the Filmmakers
We're Sergius and Herman Hannan, brothers and lifelong explorers of Alaska's wildest places. With backgrounds in wildlife photography and documentary filmmaking, we've dedicated our careers to capturing nature's most important stories and sharing them with the world. Sergius’s work as an award-winning wildlife photographer has reached hundreds of millions of nature lovers, while Herman’s documentaries invite audiences into the very heart of the wilderness.
What We’re Creating
Our latest project, Winter Prairie, follows our journey deep into interior Alaska to document a remarkable story: the resurgence of the wood bison. Nearly wiped from the continent in the 20th centu
What We’re Asking For
We’re seeking your support to help Sandcrane Hill Productions reach our project’s fundraising goal of $10,000 to help us cover:
Snow machine rentals, gas, and extreme winter gear to access the bison in the deep snow of Alaska's Innoko Valley
Local guides with experience in the brutal Alaskan winter, with temperatures as low as -35 degrees Fahrenheit
Flights to and from Innoko Valley
Your Impact
Every donation brings us closer to sharing these bison’s untold story, and the hope it carries for wildlife everywhere, with audiences worldwide.
This film will be submitted to film festivals across the country, including: Wildlife Conservation Film Festival, Anchorage International Film Festival, Banff Mountain Film Festival, and Wildscreen Film Festival.
